The Amstel

The Amstel is a channeled river in the south of North Holland. The area along the river is referred to as Amstelland. Amsterdam owes its name to the Amstel. Originally the river flowed into the IJ via the present Rokin and Damrak, now the Amstel ends in the city center of Amsterdam at the Muntplein. Wonderful cruise both inside and outside Amsterdam.
